Come to King’s Cross Station, Platform 9 ¾ where the Hogwarts Express train leaves
on the
afternoon of July 26, 2008 and be prepared for a week of magic and fun.
Of course, you will not have to have read the Harry Potter books to enjoy an exciting week
of lively and unexpected events!
But do read one or two if you have time –
there is good reason why they are so enormously popular.
You will meet Albus Dumbledore, the school headmaster and Cornelius Fudge from the
Ministry of Magic
and many other wonderful characters.
You will learn about the game of "quidditch" where seekers try to catch the "golden snitch".’
We encourage you to join in the costume parade before the Championship Games. Here are some suggestions:
Adults – Any Hogwarts staff member ( a robe or cape, hats of various shapes pointed, turban, bowler, fez etc.), weird hair, beards.
Trolls, Dragons, ghosts, owls, dementors, Nearly Headless Nick, a muggle(a non-magic person),
the nurse, Poppy Pomfrey , who cures everything with chocolate!
Children: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Grainger, Dobby the elf, owls, cats, ghosts, frogs.
A long-sleeved toddlers shirt stuffed with newspaper to make the arms stand up makes a crazy hat.
A shirt buttoned up over a child’s head makes a headless monster. Clothes can be worn front to back with eyeglasses on the back of the head.
After a fun-packed week we’ll celebrate at the Hogwarts graduation dance.
